Note that H.abyssinica, with H. arabica nested within, is not recovered as monophyletic, with Hydnora arabica. Outgroups are represented in a condensed form in (A) and completely removed in (B) to allow for better focus on the study group. The complete trees can be found in Figure S1. Inferences were calculated using RAxML. Bootstrap support values are shown along the respective nodes. Members of Hydnora clades I and II (based on Jost et al.
